"Cannot recommend Lesley highly enough. My feisty Jack Russell Noah is putty in Lesley's hands as she spends hours playing with his toys for him. Lesley has done many sleep overs and drop ins for me over the past two years and I always return to a happy dog and perfectly tidy house - you would not know she has been there".

"Thank you so much for giving Siena the daily exercise she needed whilst we were quarantined. She fell in love with you very quickly. As we discussed at the outset she is of a nervous disposition and not particularly gregarious but you and she got on like a house on fire.  I would not hesitate to recommend you to other dog owners who need a reliable , sensitive, knowledgeable and careful dog walker/sitter."

Dog Walking

A dog walking service available as either individual walks or small group walks.

I collect the dogs from your home, walk them for an hour locally and drop them off again.  An initial meeting will be arranged with you at your convenience, free of charge, to meet you and your dog(s).

Pet Sitting

This bespoke service is for pet(s) who will be happier and more settled if they stay in their own home.  I stay in your house and will try and keep a similar routine to the one you have with your pet(s) in terms of walks, feeding etc.  We may have a few meetings before the booking so that your pet(s) get to know me.

Drop in Service - For dogs and cats

This service is to give your pet(s) an opportunity for a comfort break, exercise, feeding (if required), topping up of water and some individual attention.

Pet Taxi

A service for your pet to be transported safely to your required destination, for example, the vet or grooming parlour.

May 2021 - Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Bill

The Government has recently passed the Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Bill in England which is likely to come into force from the 29 June 2021. This Bill will transform animal welfare by increasing sentences for animal cruelty from six months to five years. For more information on this, please see the RSPCA link below:

March 2021 - International Women's Day

In celebration of International Women’s Day today, I thought I would mention two of our local animal charities who were both founded by women:

Ferne Animal Sanctuary, Near Chard, Somerset was founded by the late Nina, Duchess of Hamilton and Brandon to provide a temporary refuge for the animals belonging to service men and women going abroad to fight at the beginning of the Second World War. Sadly many owners did not return to collect their pets and this is how Ferne Animal Sanctuary began.

To find out more about Ferne Animal Sanctuary, visit:

The Donkey Sanctuary, Near Sidmouth, Devon was founded by the late Elisabeth Svendsen, MBE in 1969 to help abused and homeless donkeys. The charity today is worldwide. Elizabeth also set up a sister charity called the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust for Children and Donkeys which provides riding therapy between donkeys and children with special needs.

Both these sanctuaries are set in fabulous grounds and, whilst closed at the current time, will hopefully be open later this year and are well worth a visit.

January 2021 - PetArtistNot -  This lady and her family are helping to raise funds for St Giles Animal Rescue Centre, who - like so many other charities - are struggling in the current situation. You can send them a photo of your pet and one of the family will draw it. The drawings are hilarious!

December 2020 - Taunton Commercial Dog Walkers Christmas Appeal

A very big thanks to all of you who donated to this Christmas Appeal. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of the donations given to all of us. Two vans were filled with food, toys, beds etc which were delivered to Ferne Animal Sanctuary, St Giles Rescue Centre and the RSPCA on Saturday 12 December. The rescue centres were extremely grateful for all the donations. A few photos below of the girls delivering the goodies.

Thank you once again for your generosity and wishing you all a peaceful Christmas.

November 2020 Taunton Commercial Dog Walkers – Christmas Appeal

With many rescue centres affected by the current situation, we have set up a Christmas Appeal to try and get as many donations as we can for local dog rescue centres this Christmas.

If anyone has spare towels, blankets, leads, treats, food, beds, toys etc that they may no longer need and would be happy to donate or, if they would like to add anything, even a packet of treats, it will all add up and be greatly appreciated by the dogs in the rescue centres.

If you have anything to donate, please let me know and I will be happy to collect from people. We would like to collect everything by 12th December.  Many thanks.

October 2020  - Ferne Animal Sanctuary is looking for some help to pay for medical treatment for one of their dogs - see the link for more information -

July 2020 - Many charities are currently struggling. Ferne Animal Sanctuary, near Chard, set in a beautiful valley, is one of my favourites. They have now re-opened to the public. Young children will love the animals, although I note the children's play areas are currently closed. See the link to their website below for further information:

July 2020 - An RSPCA clip about people abandoning animals during lockdown. Such a sad story about Penny, who is totally adorable; thankfully she has found a new home.

January 2020 - The local branch of the RSPCA at West Hatch is currently appealing for blankets for their dogs.  Blankets can either be delivered to West Hatch or dropped in to the RSPCA shop in Taunton.  See link to article below:

November 2019 - RSPCA Christmas Appeal and other festive/winter ideas - see the link below for further information:

June 2019 - A new Animal Welfare (Service Animals) Act, nicknamed "Finn's Law" after a Police dog, comes into effect.  This legislation will make it harder for anyone harming service animals to claim they were acting in self-defence - see link below:

May 2019 - Ahead of the summer, the RSPCA issues it's latest advice relating to dogs being left in cars - see link below:

January 2019 - The RSPCA together with The Dogs Trust and Pet Industry Association (PIF) have joined forces to issue Professional Dog Walkers' Guidelines.  For more information please see link below:
